Facebook Post Types That Will Increase The Number of Likes You Get To A Level Not Seen Before…
Since joining “Your Digital Formula” , I have managed to grow my page from 2000 likes to 35,000 in just 2½ months and it’s still growing astronomically. Your Digital Formula has taught me how to create and publish my own posts and provides an AMAZING interactive platform that will help you to grow your business/marketing page too, not to mention the support and friendship you will find throughout the whole group, interspersed with a bit of fun and laughter, love and respect. I still have a long way to go in the on-line world and lots to learn but this is what I have discovered about posts so far on my journey.
- Posts that are colourful and eye-catching:
This is the first thing I think about when creating a post from scratch. When I am scrolling through my Facebook timeline, the ones that catch my eye are colourful and eye-catching. This then prompts me to read or look at the post in more detail and makes me pause in my scrolling. Next I would stop at a beautiful picture, one of scenery or a spiritual type image. Next would be something funny – minions always make me stop and read. And those little annoying icons – they are not so innocent. Marketeers have proved that they speak to the reader on a subconscious level and the reader will stop scrolling and read.
- Posts with a thought-provoking, inspirational or motivational quote:
The field I work in is all about inspiration and motivation. However, whatever field you are in there will always be an element of inspiration and motivation needed if you want to grow your business and FB page etc. For nearly every quote post I produce or share that has a strong message, I ALWAYS get several comments saying that someone needed to hear that at that time.
- Posts with a call to action eg. Asking for a comment (Yes or Amen etc)
People find this an easy option. As human beings, we need to feel we belong to a “tribe” of some sort. Therefore when I post something that resonates, the reader wants to be a part of that and share the vibes with others of a similar nature. Of course, this is the arena where you can get the most negative comments – this is good for your page. It will often start a conversation stream and it is important to then make some non-controversial (or controversial if that is your way or nature of your page) comment to indicate you are listening and involved with your group. This builds trust.
- Posts with a link to a quiz or “how to” video/tutorial
There are many of these little quizzes and “how to” videos on the internet that are easily up-loadable to FB pages. Go to a site such as Playbuzz or Buzzomo. Easy to use and lots of options. Choose one that is appropriate to your field of interest, or there are facilities to make up your own if you are technically minded enough. If you have a skill of making something, upload a video to FB of you making that thing, or something similar eg. Your favourite dessert, something healthy.
- Posts that could be classed as “personal” to the reader or personal about yourself.
I’m not talking about anything SO personal it would be embarrassing or cringe-worthy. Just a post that may make the reader think “I do that” or “Yes, I get that”. Some humour here can also be quite useful too and it needs to relate to the image too unless you are using a blank canvas. Again the minions can be great at projecting this sort of engagement. An example: My internet connection went down for the evening and forced me to talk to my family – I now realise they are actually quite nice people! Can you imagine a minion saying that and holding up the end of an electric cable? And, can you relate to it or know someone who does? Powerful messages can be quite subtle. Personal posts about yourself or your family are quite important too, as it indicates you are a REAL person and people can connect and engage with you.
- Posts that originate from a well-known and popular person:
People like to think they have something in common with the celebrities they admire, especially if they are promoting a spiritual value. eg: Russell Brand, Jim Carey, Lady Gaga. If you are working in the spiritual field, as I am, posts signed off by people such as the Dalai Lama, Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay etc are always very popular. Controversially, posts that originate from someone famous that sparks a debate can be hugely popular and go viral very quickly. The same when someone dies because people like to express their feelings and FB is the perfect platform to share the love and condolences. It creates an energy that makes people FEEL into their own hearts.
I hope this little list has been helpful. If you want to find out more about how to create your own posts, sky-rocket your page, and join a fun, interactive, heart-warming group of lovely people, then join us at YOUR DIGITAL FORMULA and share in the success. I look forward to seeing you on the other side!

7 Ways to Increase the Engagement on Your Facebook page
1. Join a friendly, interactive, supportive Facebook group (eg. Your Digital Formula):“Your Digital Formula” is the one for me. At the helm is Steven Aitchison, founder of the group and all-round lovely person. Having created his own online business in recent years and with over 2 million fans, Steven is a force to be reckoned with in the online mentoring and building your business arena. Joining the “Your Digital Formula” program is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
2. Learn how to create your own posts:
One of the first things I learned through the on-line training program was how to make my own posts for social media (mainly Facebook). For me, this was and still is, such a joy. If you have a creative side that is screaming to be heard (and we all have), or a real passion for the online world, then this program will give you a real boost.
3. Get to know and love others in the group and share each others’ posts:
Learn from them and share with them. There is a wealth of information that will help your transformation within a group – especially Your Digital Formula. The old saying; “Two heads (or more) are better than one” is so true! And as you learn you will have the opportunity to help others do the same.
4. Ensure you respond to any comments and like any shares on your posts, even a “Thank you” goes a long way:
Once you have started to create posts and/or share other people’s, one of the key ways to keep your page growing is to respond to those who like, comment or share your posts. These people are your fans and in making the effort to respond to your posts they are showing a desire for more. Show them the same courtesy by responding to them to show your gratitude. Believe me, they will appreciate it.
5. Post images that start a conversation or ask for an answer:
Posting a thought-provoking image or one that asks a question is a great way to generate engagement as people will often stop scrolling and consider what you are asking. They may not respond first time around but after seeing the same post a few times as it gains momentum, they will be more inclined to then engage with you.
6. Share your posts regularly in other groups that participate in the same field of interest and engage with other members:
Take some time to find other pages, or visit ones you already know, that share the same interests. Check out their “about” section to ensure they are comfortable with posts to their timeline and then get sharing. Again, the more you share your posts, the more people will come to recognise your brand and be more inclined to engage with you. Make comments, share and like other posts on this wall – become a regular!
7. Enjoy the journey, make it fun and interactive:
Above all, ensure you are enjoying the journey. Nothing is more soul-destroying than doing something day after day that is a drudge and drags you down. Post things you love to talk about, that fill you up and you believe will also help others on their journey. I am loving creating and exploring and engaging with such wonderful, successful people – why not join us?

I’ve just been out with a lovely group of ladies that I work with and we had a fabulous evening, saying goodbye to someone who was leaving. As the evening wore on and we had had our meal and laughs about funny things that had happened over the years, our thoughts turned to more spiritual matters – isn’t it funny how that happens? It’s like there is some gravitational pull or ‘big GOD voice’ that says, “you must now talk about life and what it means”! This often starts with joking about Ouija boards and mediumship and there were indeed many laughs – but then it gets a bit more serious.
Having been on my spiritual path for a number of years I dutifully climbed on the soapbox and started talking about how spirituality had helped me, what spirituality means to me etc. I suddenly realised that although I had so much to say about the subject, there was actually very little that actually needed to be said. I often kick myself after these little ‘sermons’ and think to myself ‘no-one wants to know about this” and “why am I still talking” and “it’s alien to these people, they don’t understand or maybe not even interested and you will just be even more stupid than you look!”.
We talked about energy and where people go when they die and can we still connect with them and I am so pleased to see that science is now following up on the energy links etc – spiritual people are not crackers after all. We talked about mediumship and love and the tarot and the universe and astrology and still we had barely scratched the surface. This subject is just so vast. Where do you begin?
I don’t think I’m here to convert people, but I do love to share my thoughts and ideas on a subject that is much bigger than us and that we will perhaps never, ever have all the answers to these big questions, nor do we need to have all the answers. Can the mystery remain sacred and secret? I hope so.
I don’t know if I’ve touched anyone with my words tonight, whether my friends will want to take it further and find out more and maybe that’s not my concern but I still think we are put in these situations and have these conversations with those that are ready to explore and investigate to start them thinking about why they are here and what is life all about – a journey well worth taking. Sometimes it’s just one word or a phrase that strikes a chord with a person and if that’s what I’ve managed to do then my job this evening has been done and I have made a difference. It just feels so hard sometimes being out on that limb, expecting to be shot down by much stronger personalities. Yes they may all go home and say I was off my trolley and some sort of fruit-loop but I enjoyed myself and to me living this sort of life is normal, keeps me sane and brings me comfort.
At least no-one told me to shut up and stop talking so much nonsense! I am so grateful.
Is spirituality healthy for us?
Being here on earth, one thing we are all blessed with is a spiritual body, our souls’ overcoat, a flesh suit whatever you want to call it. We don’t therefore think of ourselves as spiritual entities in need of soul food every now and again to keep us topped up and tuned in because we are all so busy playing in our flesh suits.
Going back to my ‘dark time’, I remember having weekly healing (at least once a week) from a very dear friend who knew about healing and energy and spirit and how it all worked. As I went through this time of counselling and soul growth, I didn’t really think about the healing that was occurring. I didn’t necessarily feel any different from week to week, it was more a gradual process back to full health on all four levels – physical, emotional , psychological and spiritual. However after a few weeks, or months of this process, if my friend went away or was poorly and I missed a session, it wasn’t long before I began to feel out of sorts again, aches and pains, low mood, disconnection etc which left me with a very firm belief that healing in whatever form it may take was good for me. Something was taking place, even if I didn’t know what it was. Maybe it was just the lying in a darkened room, with candles and soft, spiritual type music and someone placing loving, healing hands on my shoulders and back that made me relax and ‘go with the flow’. Whatever it was I am deeply grateful as we must attend to the work of keeping our physical and emotional bodies in tip top condition if it is going to serve us for the 60, 70 or 80 or even 90+ years that we grace this earth. How many hundreds of thousands of elderly folk do we have here on the earth plain with no quality of life because their physical bodies are failing them? There is no need for this to happen – it is possible to live to a grand old age intact and with a great sense of humour if we just do a bit of homework. I, for one, want to get to a grand old age with agility of body and mind that belies my age (as society dictates) and to do that I will have to give it the right nutrients in all departments.
I have read so many books which has now turned into watching video clips – I’m hungry for knowledge and wisdom that I used to find in the pages of a good book and there are SO many that I just couldn’t put down (I am still an avid reader and have stacks by my bed, waiting to be devoured, as well as having the privilege of passing on those that need to find new readers). Now I find myself watching Ted Talks etc and going to seminars and workshops with that same hunger to understand what spirituality is and what being spiritual means to me. I meet many people in my travels, that fall into 3 very loose categories:
- Some with the same passion to pursue a spiritual understanding,
- Some just now getting curious and wanting to know more
- Others that think it’s all bunkum.
It is the latter who I am finding have the most difficulty in connecting all four elements together to remain healthy, balanced and whole. In my work in a busy doctor’s surgery, I see many people with ailments and chronic disease that could instantly be relieved by some of the healing modalities I have come across. However, because they are not tuned in, switched on and tapped in, they don’t get the benefit of something as simple as Reiki or reflexology. There is no understanding that there is an energy system all of its’ own within each and every one of us and until that system is brought into awareness, they remain under the control of a system on the outside, not being able to help themselves but always looking for an answer ‘out there’. The answer is within, as all spiritual guides, teachers, counsellors and gurus will tell you. We have all heard that so many times before but I think it is true – the answer lies within. And don’t imagine for one minute it’s going to be all BOOM, music and dancing lights… it is often such a gradual process that you don’t even notice it. The human body could not take such a sudden shift – we are so complex and work in such a complicated way our energy system would be so out of whack it may take a lifetime to become grounded again!
Once brought out to the open, had the light shone on it and we have got curious about it, then the real spiritual work can take place. We can actively seek out these healing modalities and although we may not know how they work, or even care, we can see that they do work and are making a difference in all four elements of our life – physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual.
So when I’m asked if spirituality is good for us – guess what my answer might be?
The true meaning of well-loved Fairy Tales!
Did you know that many of our well-loved Fairy Tales have a deep spiritual meaning? I was discussing this the other day with some friends and going over the most popular ones, trying to find hidden meanings and life inspiration. Then, I was reading Florence Scovel-Shinn’s book “The Secret Door to Success”… and this was at the back… A little old-fashioned maybe but you will get the gist of it..
INNER MEANING OF SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS – A metaphysical interpretation:
This fairy story is supposed to be for children but men and women have packed the theatre. It is because fairy tales come down from old legends of Persia, India and Egypt, which are founded on truth.
Snow White, the little Princess, has a cruel step-mother, who is jealous of her. This cruel stepmother idea appears also in Cinderella.
Nearly everyone has a cruel stepmother. THE CRUEL STEPMOTHER IS A NEGATIVE THOUGHT-FORM YOU HAVE BUILT UP IN THE SUB-CONSCIOUS.
Snow White’s cruel stepmother is jealous of her and always keeps her in rags and in the background.
ALL CRUEL THOUGHT-FORMS DO THIS.
The cruel stepmother consults her magic mirror every day, saying: “Magic mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?” One day the mirror replied “Thou Queen, mayst fair and beauteous be, but Snow White is lovelier far than thee”. This enrages the Queen, so she decides to send Snow White to the forest to be killed by one of her servants. However, the servant’s heart melts when Snow White begs for her life, so he leaves her in the woods. The woods are filled with terrifying animals and many pitfalls and dangers. She falls in terror to the ground, and while there a most unusual spectacle presents itself. Scores of the most delightful little animals and birds creep up and surround her: rabbits, squirrels, deer, beavers, racoons, etc. She opens her eyes and greets them with pleasure; they are so friendly and attractive. She tells her story and they lead her to a little house which she makes her home. NOW THESE FRIENDLY BIRDS AND ANIMALS SYMBOLISE OUR INTUITIVE LEADS OR HUNCHES, WHICH ARE ALWAYS READY TO “GET YOU OUT OF THE WOODS”.
The little house proves to be the home of the Seven Dwarfs. Everything is in disorder, so Snow White and her animal friends begin to clean the house. The squirrels dust with their tails, the birds hang things up, using little deer’s horns for a hat-rack. When the Seven Dwarfs come home from their work of digging gold, they discover the change at last find Snow White asleep on one of the beds. In the morning she tells her story, remains with them to keep house and cook their meals and is very happy. THE SEVEN DWARFS SYMBOLISE THE PROTECTIVE FORCES ALL ABOUT US.
In the meantime the cruel stepmother consults her mirror and it says to her: “Over the hills in the green wood shade, where the Seven Dwarfs their dwelling have made, there Snow White is hiding her head and she is lovelier far, O Queen, than thee. This infuriates the Queen; so she starts off, disguised as an old hag, with a poisoned apple for Snow White. She finds her in the house of the Seven Dwarfs and tempts her with the big, red, luscious apple. The birds and animals endeavour to tell her not to touch it. THEY TRY TO GIVE HER THE HUNCH NOT TO EAT IT. They rush around in dismay, but Snow White can’t resist the apple. She takes one bite and falls, apparently dead. Now all the little birds and animals rush off to bring the Seven Dwarfs to the rescue; but too late. Snow White lies lifeless. They all bow their little heads in grief. The suddenly the Prince appears, kisses Snow White and she comes to life. They are married and live happily ever after. The Queen, the cruel stepmother is swept away by a terrific storm. THE OLD THOUGHT-FORM IS DISSOLVED AND DISSIPATED FOREVER. THE PRINCE SYMBOLISES THE DIVINE PLAN OF YOUR LIFE. WHEN IT WAKES YOU UP, YOU LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER.
This is a fairy story which has enthralled people for many decades. Find out what form of tyranny your cruel stepmother (or inner critic) is taking in your sub-conscious. It is some negative conviction which works out in all your affairs.
We hear people saying: “My good always comes to me too late”, or “I’ve lost so many opportunities”. If we reverse the thought and say repeatedly “I am wide awake to my good, I never miss a trick”, I wonder what would change for us.
WE MUST DROWN OUT THE DREARY SUGGESTIONS OF THE CRUEL STEPMOTHER. ETERNAL VIGILANCE IS THE PRICE OF FREEDOM FROM THESE NEGATIVE THOUGHT-FORMS.
While watching a TV programme last week about some very enlightening older people which was fascinating to watch and hear their philosophies about life and death. There was one phrase that really got me thinking and I quote:
“If you can adapt to your surroundings, then you will be ok.. you will get through life in a reasonable fashion.”
Whilst I have an understanding of what this man meant, from my own perspective of course, I couldn’t help questioning this and this is what I came up with:
Why would anyone want to just “get by”?
Why would anyone want to just “get through life”?
This made me feel that life can be very cheap and just something we have to get through to get to the other end – maybe as quickly as possible – to hurry up staying alive, so to speak. To some that are in that space, this is probably just how “life” feels (I have been there myself). Through certain life events that I have experienced the exact opposite seems to be true for me now. Life brings with it a richness, a mystery, a seeking and exploration of all that life has to offer. Yes there is a lot of negative things going on in the world, which is difficult to ignore if you have compassion in your heart and a willingness to improve things for others, but there is also a lot of beauty and love and caring and sharing and life need not be a case of “just getting through it”, if we can just open ourselves to our potential and the potential of others around us and, like sunflowers, move round with the sun, together in unity and harmony. Seek out the help… no-one is going to do it for us and it’s nothing to be ashamed of if we need it – we have no problems asking for other things to meet our needs.
Just silently ask for that teacher to come along, or be shown a sign, or even just a friendly face that says “you are ok”.
Some more quotes from the programme – do they resonate with you?
“In living more slowly, especially if you live alone, you will see beauty, you will recognise a loveliness in so many things that you never had time for while you were busy earning a living.”
“Don’t give up when you think you only have a few years to live. Go at it steam ahead, don’t lie down before you have to…”
LIFE CAN BE BEAUTIFUL… DON’T MISS IT!!
What is your spiritual gift?
Whether you are a healer, communicator, connector, have better than average psychic prowess, can talk to the dead, angels or ascended masters, we all have SOMETHING we can bring to the spiritual well-being of others. Finding it is perhaps the first mission, acting on it is the next and creating a life around it is another. Have fun with this…. I am a “dreamer”!
